Author experienced 7 cases which chief complaints were lumbago. Signs and symptoms of those cases were so similar to disc protrusion that misdiagnosed clinically. Of 7 cases, 3 cases were diagnosed as disc protrusion by the help of neuroradiology and 4 cases couldn¢¥t be diagnosed acurately until operation and biopsy were done.
The former were identified as a case of neurofibroma, spondylolisthesis and multiple myeloma. The latter were confirmed to a case of neurofibroma, degenerative spondylitis, epidural abscess and metastatic adenocarcinoma.
